I just try to separate myself from the situation...I don't always succeed tho.

Oh yes mcmandy, sometimes these types of people are quite hard to get away from or ignore. Oh well.

I think there are two things that you can do

1 - call them out on their negativity, give constructive criticism. Theres a chance they change their behaviour.

2 - If they dont change, cut them out of your life.

A simple remedy --- disassociate.  Hard to do sometimes, but the state of my serenity is too important to hand to someone else.
