I am at "that age" when menopause strikes, although I have no biological signs of it.  My husband is convinced that my depression is due to menopause.  My dr. doesn't.  My moods are all over the place and I'm often anxious. I also occasionally self-injure (cut).  Anyone experience this?

I have experienced some of the same midlife HORMONAL changes.  I recently was recommended to a hormone specialist by a friend that was also experiencing the same thing.  My OBGYN was not the answer.  There is a list of symptoms such as depression, irrititability, sleeplessness, weight gain, etc. I checked almost every box.  I told the doctor to shoot or fix me and thank God he didn't look at me like I was crazy but did a blood test and put me on everything basically. Testosterone, Prosgesterone, Estrogen and DHEA - all natural - mixed at a compounding pharmacy.  I feel like my old self again.  My husband and friends have noticed the drastic wonderful change.  I strongly suggest you try finding another doctor. Don't ignore what you already intrisicly know about your own body!  By the way, men go thru this as well and I have a male friend that has been able to feel 100% better going to a hormone specialist.  Good luck! Don't ignore this - it will help - I promise

I hear you, Violin. Lisa has a great suggestion. I'd like to add that I've gotten some relief just by using natural progesterone, found in health food stores. Also a good therapist has been a big help to me. Glad you are reaching out and asking for help....you don't have to suffer!

Best wishes,

Hi Guys,

Fantastic responses, thank you to everyone

I would also consider following some form of self-development path to help you let go of any attachment you have to those mood swings. The Sedona Method is one such technique of identifying and "releasing" on those concerns (www.sedona.com). And I have no connection with this company Wink  Or try menopause hypnosis downloads, etc...

Just my random 2C.

Thanks,

Karlos

How I empathise with any one, Male or Female, who is suffering through menopausal symptoms. The bane of my life at present is hot flushes (flashes in USA). I can have them every half-an-hour during the day and literally all through the night. As soon as one stops the other starts. Disrupting my sleep patterns. I have tried everything from Sage to visualising I am jumping in to a mound of snow!

I've had some success with Emotional Freedom Techniques and I also espouse the Sedona method Karl, but those flushes just keep coming. If anyone out there has a remedy other than: sage, dong quai, black cohosh, menolife, soy or a sawn-off shotgun I would be very grateful.

Hormone Replacement Therapy.

Isnt it strange how many women suffer with the menopause and myself Ive hardly noticed it!  I wonder why that is?   I was on HRT for 6 years and felt like I was 16.   Now Ive come off it, Im suffering with all kinds of aches and pains arthritis, fibromyaligia and what most descibe as getting older!

I was quite annoyed as I was given HRT as I was a risk to Osteporosis.   6 years down the road and they found out that HRT was more of a risk than the OP and I had no need to be on that in the first place.   Just think if Id had cancer because of it (and of course you cant be sure!) how I would have felt being on HRT when it was unneccesary.  A think a damned good lawyer would have been the answer!

As for menopause symptoms, I hardly had any, no hot flushes, no pains, no headaches and when I finally went into menopause it was like switching off a light.  I was amazed.  I wonder why the hormones are so unpredictable for some women. Am I a minority?

I posted earlier about a product but can't find it.  I use a product that works wonders.  You can go to:  www.wealthsupportnetwork.com and watch project goji.  To buy the product go to:  www.trueresidual.freelife.com.  It has a 90-day money back guarantee.  You need to take enough to benefit you and you need to be consistent.  Any questions, please call me at (310) 462-1021.  You can also check out: www.gojibook.com and click on the 34 reasons.

I have been through menopause and understand just how awful it can be. At that time I was holding meditation groups for up to 40 people at a time. Needless to say, many were in my age group and suffering the same symptoms. I found wonderful relief with a yam product and advised my following to try it also. The results were extreme improvement giving relief to 9 out of 10.
I am not sure if the product is available in all countries. I am in Australia. It should be easy to find a similar product in any good health food store. Look for 500mg  of Dioscerea Villosa. I found this also to be very affordable.
Now to Goji, it is a wonderful product, but because it is marketed through MLM, it is very expensive.
It is juice from the Chinese Wolfberry.  Goji makes huge claims, as do all the other MLM companies selling similar products.
I have Chinese friends and they advised me to buy Chinese Wolfberry juice from China town. Now every city in the world has a China town. You will get this product at about one tenth the price of Goji. It is as effective, but if you wish to be Hard sold on Goji, that is your choice.
I am a networker of sorts and do have many contacts selling Goji. Some are amazing frends, we do understand each other.  My belief is, if it is not affordable to the masses, then I will not touch it.
Just my 2 cents worth and I hope you do find relief from one of the many suggestions in this thread.

Somehow dealing with getting older comes with depression and pressure. I think you can do things way back younger days. Why not go to park with your husband and relax. You can spend quality time with yourself and husband as well.

It's great you've asked for help, so many just let it go and suffer in silence until things get to much hope you've found the answers you need.
